Southwest Airlines – one of the few profitable airlines has a very robust social media program. Southwest thinks out of the box. Last week they posted an interesting video that was lighthearted and a little bit goofy. The end of the video states “Stay Tuned for the 10 Million Point Shot…”
One week later, Southwest Flight 812 had a 6 foot hole open in the passenger compartment which required an emergency landing in Yuma, AZ. The tone of the following Youtube video took a significantly different tone.
The question is, what will Southwest’s strategy be and what will become of the 10 Million Point shot?
